Guide to the Psijic Order

Summerset's first quest, The Queen's Decree unlocks Artaeum's wayshrine (even if you travel to Artaeum sooner, you must complete that quest before Loremaster Celarus appears within Ceporah Tower). Loremaster Celarus' quest The Psijics' Calling enables you to join the Psijic Order.




Psijic Portals

Appearing rarely in places one might expect to find Enchanting materials (near ancient ruins, destroyed buildings, and other relics of the past), Psijic Portals are invisible to those outside the Psijic Order.

The one thing Psijic Portals can contain that is found no where else is jewelry with the Infused trait and its associated material, Aurbic Amber. If a portal grants a combination of runes, it could contain any higher quality Aspect Rune (excluding Ta) and any Essence rune in the game — including rarely a Prismatic rune; Potency runes have the normal 50/50 split between your character level and rank in the Potency Improvement skill. Very rarely a single draught of Psijic Ambrosia will be found in these Psijic Portals.

Some rewards within a Psijic Portal vary based upon their location. Set pieces for example, while tending to be a higher quality, are from the same sets always found within that given zone. Motif chapters typically acquired within that zone might be found in Psijic Portals as well; for example, a Psijic Portal in Clockwork City could drop a Clockwork Apostle motif chapter.




Psijic Motif

The Psijic Motif and its associated style materials, Vitrified Malondo, may be obtained from several activities in Summerset. In decreasing likelihood of gaining the motif these activities include:

Chances increase based upon rank in Psijic Order skill line with rank 10 giving 10 times the chance of those unskilled in the Psijic Order.




Leveling in the Psijic Order

The quests to level the Psijic Order use the Auger to locate and close Time Rifts and locate artifacts around Tamriel. Once you get close enough, the Auger can be enabled to give you further location details and once you approach nearby a quest marker appears on your compass. The addon Map Pins can mark the locations on your map/minimap. The following quests & regions are involved:

  1. The Psijics' Calling in Summerset
  2. Breaches on Iliac Bay in Glenumbra, Stormhaven, and Alik'r Desert
  3. Breaches of Frost and Fire in Stonefalls, Eastmarch, and The Rift
  4. The Shattered Staff within the Pelin Graveyard (Bangkorai), Leki's Blade (Alik'r), the great Hist (Shadowfen), and Fang Spires (Deshaan)
  5. A Breach Amid the Trees in Grahtwood, Greenshade, and Malabal Tor
  6. A Time for Mud and Mushrooms in Shadowfen & Deshaan
  7. The Towers' Remains in Brothers of Strife (Stonefalls), Weeping Giant (Stormhaven), Greenheart (Greenshade), and Spellscar (Craglorn)
  8. Time in Doomcrag's Shadow in Rivenspire
  9. A Breach Beyond the Crags in Craglorn
  10. The Towers' Fall in Divad's Chagrin (Alik'r Desert)

Completing the above quest line will also reward you with an Exemplary Protective Necklace, from which one can study the Protective trait.




It should be noted that values shown below reflect the ability and/or morph once it is fully trained which sometimes differs from earlier costs, durations, or damage values. All costs and damage values here are without attribute points placed, without equipment, without passive skills acquired or active skills slotted and without champion points spent to make it easier to compare skills regardless of gear/build differences.

Since Mundus buffs can be changed but not removed, either no mundus buff was in place (template character on PTS) or the Lover mundus (which only alters penetration) was used.

Remember that if a skill costs Magicka, it scales with your maximum Magicka (and Spell Damage) while if a skill costs Stamina, it scales with your maximum Stamina (and Weapon Damage). Ultimate abilities and Synergies scale with the combination that provides you with the best offensive stats.




Psijic Order Skill Line

Levels within the Psijic Order are gained by advancing the Psijic Order storyline.

2 Time Stop

Over the course of 2 seconds (channel time), gradually reduces the Movement Speed of enemies in the area as time freezes before Stunning them in place for 3 more seconds. 7830 Magicka
Morph Option 1 Borrowed Time While Stunned, enemies suffer Heal Absorption that negates up to 5000 Healing Done for 3 seconds. (but since Stunned characters can't "take any action" what good is this?) 7830 Magicka
Morph Option 2 Time Freeze Removes the channel time, but it takes longer to fully freeze time (4 seconds) before Stunning enemies. 7830 Magicka
3 Clairvoyance Reduces the cost of your Psijic Order abilities by 8%. Passive
3 Imbue Weapon Imbues your weapon with power so your next Light Attack within 2 seconds deals an additional 739 Physical Damage. A portion of the cost is returned if the power is not used in time. 2715 Stamina
Morph Option 1 Elemental Weapon Converts to a Magicka ability with 763 Magic Damage. Applies a random elemental status effect. 3122 Magicka
Morph Option 2 Crushing Weapon In addition to the Light Attack's extra 763 Physical Damage, also heals you for 25% of the damage done. 2715 Stamina
4 Spell Orb When you cast a Psijic Order ability while in combat, you generate a spell charge. When you reach 5 spell charges, you launch a spell orb at the enemy closest to you dealing the greater of 198 Magic Damage or 198 Physical Damage.

The spell charges must be generated within 10 seconds of each other or all charges will be lost.
Passive
5 Clairvoyance II Reduces the cost of your Psijic Order abilities by 15%. Passive
5 Accelerate Bends time and space around you to gain Major Expedition for 3 4 seconds and Minor Force for 12 seconds. 3510 Magicka
Morph Option 1 Channeled Acceleration Triples the duration of Major Expedition to 9 12 seconds and Minor Force to 36 seconds, but adds a 1.3 second cast time. 3240 Magicka
Morph Option 2 Race Against Time Reduces the cost of Sprint by 50% for 3 seconds. Grants immunity to Snares & Immobilizations for 2 seconds. 3240 3510 Magicka
6 Concentrated Barrier With a Psijic Order ability slotted and while Blocking, you gain a Damage Shield that blocks 2500 Damage. The Shield resets to full strength after 10 seconds without Blocking. Passive
6 Mend Wounds Invokes the Rites of Moawita, replacing your next Light or Heavy Attack used with healing abilities that can be used on allies. Your Light Attack heals 1968 Health over 10 seconds instantly for 369 (the same amount as they would've damaged an enemy). Your Heavy Attack heals 821 328 Health every 1 second while channeling and restores 1155 Magicka every time it successfully heals an ally. 2700 Magicka (toggle)
Morph Option 1 Mend Spirit Grants the healed ally Major Resolve & Major Ward during the heal for 5 seconds. 2700 Magicka (toggle)
Morph Option 2 Symbiosis Also heal yourself for 50% of the healing given to your ally. 2700 Magicka (toggle)
7 Spell Orb II When you cast a Psijic Order ability while in combat, you generate a spell charge. When you reach 5 spell charges, you launch a spell orb at the enemy closest to you dealing the greater of 397 Magic Damage or 397 Physical Damage.

The spell charges must be generated within 10 seconds of each other or all charges will be lost.
Passive
8 Concentrated Barrier II With a Psijic Order ability slotted and while Blocking, you gain a Damage Shield that blocks 5000 Damage. The Shield resets to full strength after 10 seconds without Blocking. Passive
8 Meditate Focuses your body and mind into a meditative state, healing yourself for 1518 Health and restoring 1518 Magicka and 1518 Stamina every second. This ability toggles off if you are interrupted. (toggle)
Morph Option 1 Deep Thoughts Increases the amount of resources restored to 1914 Magicka and 1914 Stamina each second. (toggle)
Morph Option 2 Introspection Maintaining the channel gradually increases the Health restored by 10% each tick stacking to a maximum of 50%. (toggle)
9 Deliberation While you are casting or channeling a Psijic Order ability, you gain Major Protection. Passive
10 Undo Step backwards in time, resetting your Health, Magicka, Stamina, and position to what they were 4 seconds ago. 165 Ultimate
Morph Option 1 Precognition You can cast this morph while crowd controlled and will automatically gain crowd control immunity. 150 Ultimate
Morph Option 2 Temporal Guard While slotted, you gain Minor Protection. 150 Ultimate
